What Your Skin Needs After Summer
After the summer months, our skin needs some extra TLC to recover. Between the increased sun exposure, sea salt, air conditioning, pool chlorine, and the heat, it’s totally normal to end the season with your skin feeling a bit off—whether it’s dehydration, dark spots, irritation, or premature aging (like fine lines and loss of firmness).
So, friend, take note of what your skin needs now that we’re back to our routines. You don’t need to overhaul your whole skincare regimen, but it’s a good idea to tweak it a little and make sure it includes hydrating, soothing, repairing, and protective ingredients.
Ceramides
A staple you can’t skip in your moisturizer or hydrating mask. They reinforce the skin barrier, preventing water loss and shielding the skin from external aggressors. That’s why they’re essential for restoring your skin after sun exposure.
You’ll find them in Cica Face Cream, our most complete treatment moisturizer.
Centella Asiatica
One of the best ingredients for skin regeneration and repair. It hydrates, soothes, and has anti-aging properties, making it perfect for calming irritated or dehydrated skin, or skin that looks a little older post-summer.
Apply a generous layer of Midnight Mask before bed and get ready to fall in love with your skin by morning.
Tranexamic Acid or Arbutin
If you noticed new dark spots popping up this summer, your best allies will be powerful brightening agents like tranexamic acid or arbutin. They work by inhibiting melanin and stopping its transfer, helping to both treat and prevent hyperpigmentation.
You’ll find them paired with azelaic acid in Brightening Serum—the most powerful and complete brightening formula on the market.
Vitamin C
It’s a summer essential, too—but if you haven’t been using it yet, now’s the time! It brightens dull skin, helps fade dark spots caused by sun exposure, fights free radicals, and boosts collagen production. If your skin’s feeling tired or aged after summer, you’re going to love what it can do!
Peptides
Peptides are great all year long, but they’re especially useful if you’re noticing signs of premature aging. They stimulate collagen and elastin production, improving fine lines and firmness. Plus, they help repair and strengthen the skin.
You can easily add peptides, niacinamide, and vitamin C into your routine with Morning Glow—it’s got it all!
Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) and Poly-Hydroxy Acids (PHAs)
During the summer, skin naturally thickens a bit to protect itself from UV rays, which can leave it looking dull and feeling rough now. Using gentle exfoliants like the AHAs and PHAs in Porefect Exfoliant helps remove dead skin cells caused by sun damage and improves both texture and tone.

With these ingredients, your skin has everything it needs to bounce back post-summer ;) And if you’re not sure how to fit them into your routine, you already know—you can message us and we’ll be more than happy to help.
Big hug, catch me on @twopolescosmetics & @partners.incream
