The Complete Guide to Organizing Your Facial Routine
Now that I know my skin type, I’d love to have my perfect routine!
You were probably already thinking something like that—but hold on, friend! First, let’s talk about how to organize it and what the main steps are :)
Without a doubt, the best way to start is with a simple routine until you build the habit. Plus, short routines are perfect for those days when we don’t have much time but still want to take care of ourselves. Just 3 steps with Two Poles is all you need!
What are the must-have steps your skincare routine absolutely needs?
Honestly, with just 2–3 steps you can build a solid basic routine. And with our multifunctional products, it’ll be super effective too!
Step one—and an absolute must—is cleansing. We need a clean face so the rest of the routine can really penetrate the skin and do its job. Make sure to choose a gentle cleanser that cleanses without drying or irritating your skin.

Next up: hydration. Our moisturizers have a complete formula, so in addition to hydration, they also provide treatment benefits—it's a 2-in-1! Cloud Moisturizer is ideal if you have combination to oily skin, and Cica Face Cream is perfect if your skin is dry, sensitive, or you’re looking for a little extra anti-aging support.
And lastly—if it’s daytime—finish off your routine with SPF. Yes, every single morning, even in winter. We’re exposed to UV radiation all year round, and sunscreen is the best anti-aging product you can use.
Once you have a solid routine with these three steps, you can start adding more. But how do you organize your products? In what order should you use them?
Well, friend, the order changes a bit depending on whether it's a morning or evening routine, so let’s break it down:
MORNING ROUTINE
- Cleanser.
- Eye cream. A recommended step, though not strictly necessary for everyone.
- Toner/Lotion. Exfoliating, hydrating, or soothing—this step is optional depending on your skin’s needs. You can also alternate them and use different ones throughout the week.
- Serum. Ideally an antioxidant serum to boost protection against sun exposure and help prevent premature aging.
- Moisturizer. Depending on your skin type and needs.
- Sunscreen (SPF).
NIGHT ROUTINE
At night, for obvious reasons, sunscreen isn’t needed. However, it’s a great idea to include an oil-based step before your regular cleanser and do a double cleanse. Even if you don’t wear makeup, double cleansing at night is key for properly removing sunscreen, pollution, and grime—so you’ll actually see results and improve the appearance of pores.
So, what are the steps in your nighttime routine?
- Double cleanse. Oil-based cleanser + gel/cream/foam cleanser.
- Eye cream.
- Serum. This is where you can incorporate your targeted treatment: brightening, retexturizing, hydrating, etc., depending on your skin goals.
- Moisturizer. Just like in the morning, choose based on your skin type. This step hydrates and helps lock in all the moisture.
This outline makes organizing your routine so much easier, right? And remember: if you’re just starting out, cleansing, moisturizing, and sunscreen are more than enough!
